About

Dr. Ida Kubiszewski is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Global Prosperity at University College London (UCL) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA).

In 2021, she served as CEO of ag-tech start-up Downforce Technologies Limited, which uses remote sensing to measure and account for the true value of natural capital on land. She previously acted as a climate change negotiator for the Dominican Republic, focusing on adaptation and loss & damage, and was a delegate to COP19–COP21.

Dr. Kubiszewski has authored over 200 publications, including over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles and six books, with her work cited more than 20,000 times. She was the founding Managing Editor of Solutions and is now Executive Editor of The Solutions journal. She also co-founded the Encyclopedia of Earth and serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including The Anthropocene Review, Energies, and PeerJ.

She is a full member of the Club of Rome and the Balaton Group.

Dr. Kubiszewski holds a B.A. in Astronomy and Physics and an M.A. in Energy and Environmental Analysis from Boston University, and a PhD from the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics at the University of Vermont.
