Ecological economics emerged during the 1970s and 1980s in response to worsening ecological degradation and continuing economic injustice. In 1991, the introductory chapter to Costanza’s (ed.) Ecological Economics: The Science and Management of Sustainability, entitled, “Goals, Agenda and Policy Recommendations for Ecological Economics,” (download here) provided a visionary template for the emerging field. Nearly 3 decades later, it is time to update this template.
We are hosting a conference/workshop designed to create a new Research Agenda in Ecological Economics to be published in a book of the same name, and potentially an accompanying special issue of the journal Ecological Economics.
